Turkington upbeat after key result in British learning curve
The Portadown driver clocked up placings of 10th and 18th alongside a failure to finish around Donington Park - with that first result marking the best finish to date for Team BMR.
Turkington had to tackle a range of weather elements as rain, snow and sunshine added to the challenges for the field.

“Even when we’re entering into a complete unknown with the car I still expect the best from myself and will continue to push hard to achieve the maximum result out of any situation we find ourselves in,” said Turkington. “Currently our progress cannot be measured in podiums but we are going in the right direction and I am enjoying this challenge.
“Having only completed a shakedown run with the cars since the last event, I was happy to once again qualify just outside the top 10.
“I enjoyed a typical BTCC battle in race one and it was pleasing to bring the car home in 10th position and score a few more championship points.

“We know there is work to do to close the gap to the front-runners but we have the people, skills and experience to make that happen.”
