The future of rugby at Ballymoney is bright as their Youth Academy goes from strength to strength.
Youth Chairperson Gill Powell couldn’t be happier with the way the academy is progessing and believes it can only get better.
“We set up the Academy because we wanted to take things to the next level and show how serious we are,” said Gill.
“We are keen to get more players , especially more girls, involved and already we are drawing in new players from all sides of the community.
“We have a strong boys section at Under-14, U16 and U18 levels and the aim is to do the same with the girls, the only change would be Under-15 instead of 14s.
“At the moment we are concentrating on fitness but we will break off into our groups shortly. We have great coaches and some of the Senior squad including Neil Mulholland and Captain Peter Irvine asked to come along and help.
“We already have some girls and boys involved with the Ulster Deblopment squad. Graham Donnelly is with the U18 squad and Lee and Stevie Culbertson are with the Under-16 squad.
“These young players are our future and I can’t wait for the season to start because we have so much potential here.”
