The children’s triathlon comes to Lisburn

TATA Steel, in partnership with British Triathlon and Triathlon Ireland are urging 800 youngsters to take part in the fast-growing sport of triathlon when the Tata Kids of Steel Triathlon Series comes to Lisburn in May for the first time.

The free and accessible event will take place at Lagan Valley LeisurePlex on Friday, May 18 and is one of 24 Kids of Steel triathlon events being staged across the UK and Ireland this year.

The events are inclusive and accessible to all school children aged between eight and 13 regardless of ability. The aim is to give children a fun, positive experience of sport. All the equipment is provided, including bikes and helmets, and children only need to provide swimming and running kit. Every child receives a T-shirt, swim cap, gym sack and medal for participating.
