Terry takesthe honours

In the Individuals played out in Drumgor Terry Morrow got his name on the trophy for the second time in three years after overcoming a field of 44 players to claim victory and move top of this seasons charity points table with two events to go.

Also for the second consecutive year it was Michael Lamb from the Stables who was the unlucky beaten finalist, but he will also be pleased to pick up extra points to move himself to joint second in the table.

Other players to fair well were beaten semi-finalists Rab Lewis and Eamon Duff and the four losing quarter finalists who were John Bishorek Sr, John Bishorek Jr, Shane Tallon and Michael Scullion. The charity was the real winner as another £205 was raised for is Multiple Sclerosis.

In the only league game played this week due to last weeks postponement it was the Stables who only had seven men who got the five wins they needed to take both points up for grabs.

The first match of the night seen Noel Dunwoodie in fine form as he hit no less than eight ton scores as well as a 140 and a 115 checkout that helped him win both his legs in 18 darts each on way to a 2-1 win over Hugh Campbell who had a 123 and 2x100’s himself. Michael Lamb soon levelled matters as he won both legs against Paul McGahan hitting 3 ton scores and a 21 dart leg.

Game three seen the Stables move in front as Rab Lewis got the better of Paul Callaghan on a 2-0 score line. The fourth match was to play a big part in the result as Chris Cinnamond lost out to Stables captain Shane Tallon as the players had 10 ton plus scores between them with Chris hitting seven of them which included two 140’s but it was the two doubles that Shane hit that put his team 3-1 up at the half way point.

Hugh Heaney had a last leg win to pull one back for Eire Og and as Micky Dunwoodie got a bye in the next match it was all level at three each with two to play. Pat Curran put the Stables back in front as he got the better of Dermie McStay in both legs played for a 2-0 win and in the last match it was John Bishorek Sr who took both points for the Stables as he beat Mark McLernon by two legs to nil with both players hitting a couple of ton plus scores.
