Super seven as seconds bounce back

GARVEY 7 MOSSLEY 0

GARVEY Seconds bounced back from the disappointment of exiting the Junior Cup with an emphatic win against Mossley Seconds. Garvey started the game slowly and

it was Mossley who had the better of the opening exchanges. It was Garvey however that opened the scoring after 15 minutes when a through ball by Allen gave Rob Cummins an opportunity on the reverse which he dispatched skilfully over the keeper. Within minutes Garvey doubled their lead when Ian Davidson found himself unmarked at the back post to slot home after good work by John Gray.

Garvey finished the half on the ascendency and Cummins completed a first half hat trick with two goals from close range to ensure Garvey went into the break four goals up.

The second half continued with Garvey on top and enjoying the majority of the possession. The sustained pressure resulted in three further goals with Glen Whitten bagging Garvey’s fifth with a reverse stick finish from the top of the circle. Stirling then got in on the act with two late goals to give Garvey a 7-0 win and ensure they keep the pressure on Banbridge at the top of Junior One.
