AFTER the Arctic conditions experienced during midweek we were very fortunate to only lose a total of six games on Saturday and hopefully we have seen the last of the snow for this season.

Note: The next league meeting will be held on Monday 12 April in the normal venue. Meeting will commence at 8.00pm sharp and all clubs are to be represented.

Ballycastle United 5 v 1 Cookstown Olympic

The Olympic who started the game with nine men due to a car problem took the lead after Dean Stewart scored on the 30th minute and this goal separated the teams until Paul Boyle equalised for Ballycastle on the 70thn minute. Ballycastle then went in front after Darren McHenry scored on the 80th minute and followed this with his second goal on the 82nd minute. Time was then running out fast when Darren Morrison scored a brace of goals for Ballycastle on the 86th and 89th minutes.Referee Mr David Gillen

After a good opening to the game Donal Walls put the visitors in a strong position after he scored on the 16th and 17th minutes but then saw Ryan Gurney cut the lead after converting a penalty on the 20th minute. After this both teams had numerous chances to score but unfortunately none were taken with the Sky Blues claiming the points at the end.Referee Mr William McConaghie
