Narrow defeat for Ports away at South Antrim
The local lads went into the game with South Antrim as underdogs, but they produced an excellent display.
The game was fairly even in the opening exchanges with both sides finding their feet.

Portrush were playing well, but the hosts were starting to show their calibre, particularly going forward.
They forced a number of short corners and managed to grab an equaliser just before the the half time whistle.
South Antrim kept up the pressure after the restart and it began to tell on the visitors.

Portrush kept battling until the end but they couldn’t find an equaliser.
Overall a positive performance by Portrush to compete with such a team, however there is still work to be done on discipline and fitness.
With three weeks until the first league game, Portrush will be set to work hard on improvements so in the future more games can be won and better teams defeated. Great performances from Christie and Smith.
