McGowan plays best game of his life in qualifying event


The Mary Peters Trust competition at the weekend was a qualifying event with the winner representing the club at Lisburn Golf Club on Friday 14th. September.

In a very high scoring game with at least twelve members bettering their h/cap allowance!!

Tommy McGowan (10) played the best game of his life. With a front nine of two over par giving him 21 points Tommy played the back nine in level par adding 23 for a winning score of 44 points.

The highlights of Tommy’s round was birdies at holes 7 and 15. Pushing him all the way was the much improved player Sam Reid (15) with nines of 21 and 22 to finish one point adrift with the help of birdies at holes 4 and 10.

Davy Wilson (20) continued his rich vein of form with nines of 19 and 22 for a total of 41 points to end up third.
