Frustrating draw for Ballymoney Seconds

BALLYMONEY Seconds travelled to Belfast to take on sixth-placed Harlequins at Deramore Park.

Ballymoney will be kicking themselves for not taking all three points from this game as they dominated for long periods.

Ballymoney’s ‘rookie ‘keeper’ was beaten in the 7th minute from a short corner but great play down the right by Clare Parkhill and Catherine Knipe gave ‘Money a much needed boost and a well-executed shot from Nicola Sargant left the teams level.

Ballymoney dominated the remainder of the first half deep in Quin’s defence but the home goalkeeper denied several players the chance to get their names on the scoresheet.

‘Money started the second half exactly where they had finished the first, pressurising the home defence but they were frustrated with missed chances and saved shots on the goal.

Harlequins got a breakaway clearance into the ‘Money circle which resulted in another short corner from which they scored.

Ballymoney responded well from the re-start when Nicola Sargent scored her second to bring the score level when she found the goal from a narrow angle.

Ballymoney threw everything at Quins but their keeper certainly kept them in the game.

Ballymoney will look back on this match as a game of missed opportunities.
