A great second-half display saw Dunloy beat Ballycastle in last week’s Feile na nGael final replay at Pairc MacUilin, Ballycastle.
Ballycastle had the better of things in the opening half and were 1-2 to 01 clear after seventeen minutes thanks to a goal and two points from team captain Dairmuid McShane in reply to a point from an Eamon Smyth free. However Dunloy finished the half strongly and Eamon Smyth and Conal Cunning pointed frees in reply to one from play by Dairmuid McShane to end the half just three points adrift (0-3 to 1-3.
Conal Cunning and Ronan Molly closed the gap to the minimum with points early in the second-half before Ballycastle full-forward Eoin McCaughan hit his team’s only score of the second-half.
Dunloy still had work to do however and they got the breakthrough four minutes from time when their substitute hammered the ball to the Ballycastle net.
Conal Cunning added a point from a free to put Dunloy two clear and while Dairmuid McShane came to close to grabbing a goal in the final minute Dunloy held on take their first Feile title since 1992.
