Defeat means title may be out of ‘Money’s grasp

THIS was a crucial lose for Ballymoney in their battle to land the league title.

Ballymoney played Pegasus for the third time this season on Saturday and unfortunately Pegasus evened up the tally with a win.

Ballymoney conceded their first short corner in the 1st minute but it was well cleared by the ‘Money defence.

However, things did not get any better for the visitors as they conceded another seven short corners in the first half and it took some good defensive work from the girls to keep the goal bound shots from counting.

The second half saw Pegasus again strike early only this time Ballymoney was not so fortunate and the Toon girls went 1-0 down.

Ballymoney were awarded two short corners in the second half but a telling short was not to be found. The closest ‘Money came to scoring was through young Nikki Sargent who saw her reverse stick shot saved by the ‘keeper.

‘Money have now let themselves in a situation where they have to win all their remaining games and rely on other teams to drop points for them to have a chance of winning the league.
