Glebe continued on from last week’s excellent result against Lurgan Celtic with another fine performance against Dollingstown.
Despite being a goal down at half-time a second half equaliser from Mo McDowell was enough to seal a point from a game in which Glebe will feel they could have taken all three.
The visitors started strongly and took a 13th minute lead when Richard Thompson capped off a fine inter-passing move with an excellent strike past Shannon. Richard Donaghy headed over before Shannon produced a fine stop to deny Thompson as Dollingstown pressed but there was to be no further scoring before the interval. It was deja-vu in the second half as for the second week in succession Glebe took the game to their opponents in the second period. Chris Mawhinney, a second half substitution failed to connect after good work by Morrison whilst Wilson blazed wide with the goal gaping. Mawhinney was denied by Fletcher before Morrison was impeded just inside the box. From the resultant penalty McDowell levelled and it was Mawhinney who almost had the last word when his header was tipped over by Fletcher as Glebe sought a winner.
