Lisburn RFC teams learn some Gaelic sports skills

MEMBERS of Lisburn RFC and Glenavy GAA joined forces recently as Lisburn’s Under 13 team tried their hand at some Gaelic skills.

Leslie Bracken, President of Lisburn RFC was invited to Glenavy GAA on Saturday May 14, along with members of the Lisburn U13 Team for a morning’s training session. On Monday May 16, further members of Lisburn’s Mini Section, U8, U9 and U10’s joined Glenavy GAA for training. The events were a great success and were enjoyed by all, with many parents being present on Monday night.

Yet again, Lisburn RFC and Glenavy GAA were ahead of the mainstream news of Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Croke Park, just as they were with their carol singing in December, which was led by the two clubs, ahead of the Presbyterian Moderator’s visit to Ulster GAA.

The two club’s have worked together to establish contact and hope to run more events throughout the year.
