Larne AC members perform well in Parkruns
Meanwhile, six others stayed a little closer to home; opting for the ECOS ‘parkrun’ in Ballymena. This proved to be a successful outing, with Larne AC celebrating victory in both the male and female categories. Andy Gregg led the field home in 18:15, while Rhonda Brady smashed her previous 5km personal best by nearly a minute when she finished as first lady in 21:29 (12th place overall).
Ian Brennan crossed the line between the victorious pair (21:27) in 11th spot, while Lionel Date (22nd place – 23:22) and Heather Baxter (23rd place – 23:28) proved inseparable until the finish. Heather’s good running was rewarded with a second-place finish in the ladies’ category. Elaine Hall, competing in her first official ‘parkrun’ recorded 26:07 (48th place).
