HOCKEY: Mossley bow out of Irish Senior Cup
The teams were locked at 3-3 in Saturday’s second-round clash, but the EY Hockey League outfit edged the shootout.
The Glademen took an early lead when Joel Cathcart rounded off a sweeping counter-attack which saw Matthew Sullivan and Ross McIvor break down the right from a Glenanne penalty corner.

Hide AdThe visitors doubled their advantage when Aaron Boyd fired in a cross which was met by McIvor at the back post.
Mossley looked comfortable but the hosts grabbed a goal back just before half time with a drag flicked penalty corner routine.
The second half began at a frantic pace and it was Mossley who regained their two-goal cushion from a long corner, with Cathcart picking out Colin McLean to deflect past the advancing keeper.
Despite a string a of fine saves from Ben McMillan, Glenanne battled back to score twice in the closing 10 minutes of the tie, meaning the encounter would be settled on flicks.

Hide AdMcMillan saved the first two but Mossley were unable to take advantage, losing 3-2 after five rounds. Mark Moreland and Colin McLean scored from the spot.
The 2nd XI fell to a 2-1 defeat at South Antrim 2nd XI with Neil Cooke scoring from a penalty stroke.
The 3rd XI ran out 5-2 winners at Instonians with goals by John Young, Mark Lee, Michael Dorman, Robert Tyrrell and Ian Creighton.
The 4th XI won 3-0 against North Down fourths and the 5th XI played out a 3-3 draw against Portadown 3rd XI with goals from Niall McGoldrick, Rory Laverty (two).
