Hard working Bann ladies lose out to Victorians
The match started brightly with both teams enjoying good passages of play in the opening minutes.
Banbridge had the upper hand with the majority of the possession but were unable to convert this into any goals.

Hide AdSome nice passing from the defence, to the midfield and forwards resulted in Banbridge looking dangerous around the ‘D’.
Cathy Rees made a well placed pass to Amy Atkinson who calmly put the ball in the back of the net to give the girls the advantage and make the score line 1-0 to Banbridge.
Victorians then gained momentum and were very attacking, with the defence having to work hard and goalkeeper Sarah McCabe pulled off some great saves.
However, Victorians soon won a short corner and a smooth routine resulted in a goal, making the score 1-1 as half-time approached. The first half ended 1-1.

Hide AdFollowing half time, Banbridge started the second half energetically with some good pressure on the Victorian defence and were unlucky not to come away with another goal.
Half way through the second half Victorians began to up their game and were dominating the game.
Bann’s defence worked hard, but unfortunately Victorians had a string of good passes which led to them reaching the ‘D’ and scoring in the final 10 minutes.
Banbridge worked tirelessly, but were unable to get another goal, resulting in the final score being 2-1 to Victorians.
Banbridge now face Armagh on Wednesday 11th February in their final game of the season.
