The pupils stayed at Browns Sports and Leisure Club, one of Europe’s premier warm weather training facilities, which has been used by international rugby teams such as Australia, Ireland and England.

The resort boasts its own full-size rugby pitch, 3G pitch, outdoor high-performance gym, cross country track, outdoor and indoor pools and fitness suite.

The facilities were fully utilised to prepare the players for the upcoming Schools’ Cup campaign which kicks off when they host Lurgan College in the first round on January 10.

Each day the boys trained on the rugby pitch and alternated the evenings between weights sessions in the gym and conditioning work on the 3G pitch.

The boys were also treated to an ‘athelete’s menu’, allowing them the full professional experience.

The school has hailed the trip as a fantastic success and the boys are looking forward to making a return to competitive action in the New Year.
