GOLF: GMac finishes third in Singapore

Portrush golfer Graeme McDowell finished third in the Barclay's Singapore Open.

The Rathmore man carded a one under par closing round 70, to end the week at 13 under par leaving him four shots behind eventual winner Adam Scott.

It's the third time the Australian has won the Singapore Open.

McDowell restarted his final round on the 13th hole following thunder storms on Sunday and birdied the par four.

He followed that with another birdie on the par three 14th, but with the club house rapidly approaching, he could only manage pars on his closing four holes.

Belfast golfer Michael Hoey ended the week at one over par, two shots better than fellow countryman Gareth Maybin.
