Warren have a nervous win

Warren YM were leading 3-0 even when reduced to ten men, but they had few anxious moments when South Antrim, reduced to nine-men came back to 3-2 very late on in the Premier Division of the South Antrim League.

Reza Davies, Neil Donaghy and Andy Ginn, who was Warren’s best player, got the goals.

James Thompson scored for Ballymacash YM but they had to settle for a 1-1 ndraw away to Sandy Row.

Cregagh Wanderers followed up their 15 goals of the previous week by beating Orangefield OB III 4-1. Graham Montgomery and Brian Lindsay got two apiece.

Neil Archer sored twice for Ballymacash YM II, but they lost 4-2 to Woodvale YM.

DIVISION 2

Glenavy hit back

Glenavy III disappointed in their opening game but a hat-trick from Greg Campbell put them back on track with a 4-2 win over South Antrim II. Stephen Montgomery got their other goal.

Moira Albion II squeezed past Sandy Row II 2-1 and Newtown Forest III came good with a 3-1 win over 10th Old Boys

FC make surprise exit

FC Utd Lisburn are out of the Ironside Cup after losing 2-4 away to Bloomfield III in the first round. Dave Worsfold got both their goals.

Glaston eased past Victoria Athletic 7-0 in a preliminary round tie and 1st Lisburn received a walkover against Belvoir FC II.

Stephen Keyes and Harrison Gibson scored in a 2-1 win for Ballymacash YM III over Colin Valley III.

Ballymacash Rangers III were 6-1 winners against Harmony Hill. Kurt Walker got four of them and the others came from Lee Gourley and Dee McIlroy.

In the IFA Junior Cup, first round Taughmonagh YM beat Claudy Rovers 6-1 but Belvoir FC lost 4-1 and Lambeg Rangers 6-0 in other ties involving South Antrim teams.
