Tuffey, who joined the Lurgan Blues on a two year deal in May, has secured a three year extension at Mourneview Park.

Glenavon is a super club,” said the former Northern Ireland goalkeeper. “I am enjoying my football again and that is all down to the players and staff here. We also have a great bunch of lads in the dressing room.

“I’m delighted with the new deal, but I also feel the hard work starts all over again now to justify it.

“I can’t thank manager Gary Hamilton and Paul Millar enough, but especially our goalkeeping coach Reggie Hillen,” explained Jonny.

“It is Reggie’s time, effort and dedication he has given to me that has helped me back to where I need to be and enjoying my football again.”

The Banbridge man, who picked up the Northern Ireland Player of the Month award in December, said Mourneview Park is a special place.

“The support given to me and my family from the club is incredible and for me the family feel and importance of that makes it a very special place. I feel very lucky to be part of a special changing room with fantastic lads who all have ambitions to keep getting better.”
