Star performance from United

Ballymoney United registered their first win in six games with a hard working away win against bottom side Killymoon Rangers.

United were buoyed by the return of Gerard Gillan and Paul Keane from injury.

Stand-in Manager John Fall had emphasised the importance of getting a win before the game and as a result Ballymoney looked the more hungry from the start.

United’s cause was helped when Killymoon had Johnny Young sent off on 13 minutes when he was guilty of a reaction after he was tackled.

Ballymoney took the lead on 36 minute through Gerard Gillan when he scored from a left wing cross.

Ballymoney made the extra man advantage count in the second half and made it 2-0 on 55 minutes with Gillan scoring his second from a corner kick.

Gillan rounded off a great day back in action when he completed his hat trick on 75 minutes.

Roma pulled one back for the home side when had scored with a volley from the edge of the box on 78 minutes but when Stephen Lyons scored the fourth for the away side the game was as good as over. It certainly was when William Wilkinson added a fifth in the 89th minute.
