Smith calls it a day
After one season in charge of the Division 1C club, the former Larne player said he felt it was “time to take a break”, but maintained he has left a strong squad in place for his successor to mount a challenge for promotion next season.
Speaking in last week’s Times, Smith hinted that his departure could be on the cards when he said: “Will Sammy Smith be there next season? That’s maybe another story for another day!”

Hide AdConfirming his decision to leave the club this week he said: “I just thought it was time to take a break, I was getting stressed out. I don’t do things half-heartedly, for me it was a seven-days-a-week job, not just a case of turning up for training and the matches on Saturday.”
