The 28-year-old joins on an initial season-long loan deal, but he has already agreed to make it a permanent switch to the Bannsiders once his current contract with Linfield expires.

Coleraine boss Oran Kearney is delighted to land the former Ballinamallard United man, so much so he has handed him the captain’s armband.

“I’m over the moon to bring David to the club,” he said.

“He has a huge pedigree and a wealth of experience, and is a different type of midfielder to what we have at the club already.

“He has a great left foot though and excellent delivery from set pieces, which will be a big asset to us.”

Kee, who will wear the number 12 short at Coleraine, made his name in the Premiership with Ballinamallard before making the switch to Windsor Park last summer.

“David wants to play and that played a big part in his decision to come here,” explained Kearney.

“It’s a great addition for us and as I say he will compliment the players we already have in midfield.

“David is also coming into his best years which is another big bonus for us.”

Kearney also confirmed Steven Douglas as the club’s Vice-Captain for the forthcoming season.
