Ryan’s finishing touch helped the Villagers turn the tables on a 2-0 deficit before Bangor left it level at 3-3 ahead of the final decisive strike.

“It was a dramatic day, with both teams on top in spells before, thankfully, a big win for us,” said Boyle. “That result helped to give us some breathing space over teams below us and Daniel certainly put his stamp on the game.

“Warner Mullen’s achievements this season have maybe left people forgetting about Daniel’s ability but he stepped up on Saturday and has been having a great season overall.

“From my viewpoint, the big boost came from the team effort and it was a performance of real self-belief and confidence.

“I look at people like Steven Ferguson and Aaron Walsh, who grabbed control of the game at 2-0 and refused to let standards drop.

“We conceded some bad goals early on so I always had the belief the players could turn it around if we started to perform to the right level.

“It was brilliant to see the leadership skills on display across the pitch and we want to continue that this weekend against Dergview at home.

“I know a lot of the Dergview boys and know they have quality.”

Kick-off will be 3 o’clock.
