The right-back’s big brother Glenn plays for the Dubliner’s and he knows there are going to be some divided loyalties amongst his family.

United, who defeated First Division leaders Athlone Town in the previous round, have veteran centre-forward Trevor Molloy likely to start up front.

City go into the cup tie with a number of injuries, with Stewart Greacen and Kevin Deery still out with knee problems, trio Patrick McEleney (ankle), Ryan McBride (groin) and Michael Duffy (ankle) are also missing, however Michael Rafter, David McDaid and Dean Jarvis are back in the squad.
