Locals will win two Shield trophies

Many of us may dream of a ‘White Christmas’ at this time of year, but one man who put that ambition at the top of his Christmas list this year was Whites’ boss Tommy Kincaid.

Lisburn Distillery finally return to league action this weekend, after they had no fixture last weekend and two Cup encounter’s the two previous weekend’s.

In fact, the Whites haven’t played in the league since November 29, almost a month ago, when they travelled to Dundela in Championship One, where they won 4-3, which took them to seven matches unbeaten at that point.

Kincaid, meanwhile, is hoping to give fans a very ‘Merry Christmas’ when they play host to Donegal Celtic in the league tomorrow (Saturday, December 27, kick off 2pm).

“We want everybody to have a happy holiday,” Tommy declared.

Lisburn Distillery currently lie fifth in the league, with 20 points on the board.

However, they are just three points off third place, and Kincaid is keen to see his men continue to climb up the table.

“We have to concentrate on our next league game, focus on getting the points and see where it takes us,” he commented.

“Donegal Celtic will be a hard game, we’ve already played them and we beat them 1-0 in a difficult match.

“This one is going to be the same so we’ve got to be sure we’re ready for it,” he added.

Kincaid expects to have a full squad available to him for tomorrow’s clash.

“As far as I know, everyone is available to me,” Kincaid said.

With no personnel changes last time out in the two Cup encounters, Kincaid will study his squad to see if he sticks with the same starting eleven.

“I’ll have a wee look at it and see where we go,” he said. “You never know if you’ll get any injuries or anything.

“We want to keep winning and concentrate on each game as it comes and see where it takes us.”

He added: “I’d like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and I hope everybody at Distillery has a good Christmas and we’ll look forward to a good New Year.”
