Hoey and Chris Ferguson shared the goals against County Londonderry on the closing day of the youth tournament in the Vase third-place play-off.

“The lads worked so hard this week and it is a great group,” said Brendan Grimes, manager of the Premier squad. “The Vase semi-final defeat on Thursday was hard to take with so many players ruled out.

“However, Andrew returned from suspension today and finished with three goals.

“Ruairi McDonald is going to get a scan on his knee injury so we hope it is not a case of a complete ligament tear and Shayne Lavery will take about six weeks or so to recover from his broken wrist.

“It has been a brilliant week and a privilege to work with the players.”
