Dunloy are knocked out of ‘Crawford’

DUNLOY were knocked out at the 4th Round stage of the Crawford Cup in the Ballymena & Provincial Football League sponsored by Michelin Athletic Club.

Dunloy were missing a few regulars for this game but that does not take away from a good performance by York Road who will be hard to beat in this competition.

Both teams created a few chances in the first-half but at the break no goals had been scored. Things changed early in the second half when Mark McCann opened the scoring on the 55th minute putting York Road in front.

Dunloy had to chase the game after this and got caught when Craig Heaney headed in a second goal for York Road on the 76th minute. Dunloy never gave up the chase but the York’s held firm until Brendan McGarry scored on the 90th minute but by then it was too late to save the game.

THE Olympic came up against a very strong Ballymoney team in this Junior Division One match but held them at bay until Jordan Craig scored the opening goal on the 40th minute.

The Olympic went all out for the equaliser in the second half but it was Ballymoney who scored with Jordan O’Neill scoring on the 70th minute.

Ballymoney then sealed the win with time running down Jamie McFerran scored the final goal on the 83rd minute.
