Competition for places driving United on, says Ferguson
After taking 10 points from a possible 12 in their opening four Danske Bank Premiership games, Ferguson made eight changes for the midweek Wasp Solutions League Cup win over Newington.
However, Ferguson is likely to recall his first choice XI as the Sky Blues resume their league campaign on Friday night with a trip to Glenavon (7.45pm).

“Tony Kane and Gary Thompson are back from suspension and Brian McCaul is to come in as well.
“We’re playing with confidence rather than arrogance but I don’t want the players to get too carried away. We’re top of the league but it’s still only the first month of the season.
“If we go out with the same attitude, commitment and work-rate we can get a positive result. We will need to keep the ball better because Glenavon have quality players if we lose it.
