Final meeting of Aghadowey Stock Car Racing

Six Drift cars and drivers gave an amazing display of smoking tyres, donuts and drifting which thrilled the crowds of spectators. The promoters would like to thank Seamy McCooey and Chris Brady from Monaghan, Barry McCann from Ballymena, Rob Barnett from Armagh, Richard Bradley from Ballygawley and Andy Cooper from Belfast for making it such a special end to the season. A special thanks to Jimmy Henderson from Garvagh who organised the drift display.

As the season draws to a close the promoters would like to thank all those who worked hard to get the stadium into shape, the sponsors, the drivers, and the spectators for their support in helping to make the first season at Aghadowey such a success. The promoters are delighted that Aghadowey Stock Car Stadium has come to life again and hopefully this will continue for many years to come.

1600 Bangers – With the Banger Irish Points title to fight for and only 2 points between Lee McCloy and Mark McLaughlin this made for an exciting race meeting. With a 3rd and 2nd place in the heats Lee finished first in the points. Newcomer James Goldie won the first heat but William McFaul Jnr from Garvagh took the chequered flag in heat 2 and the Final.

1600 Lightning Rods – Amos McCloy picked up the chequered flag ahead of Paul Hosie and Mark Dunlop in the final.

Our next meeting is on Monday 27 December 2010 which features all classes and finishes with a Destruction Derby – Winner Takes All. Racing starts at 1.00 pm.

A presentation night is being held on Friday 12th November at The Lodge Hotel, Coleraine. There will be a Disco, Trophy Presentations and a Buffet Supper. Tickets are 15 and can be bought from any of the Promoters.
