Ex-Ballymoney hockey‘keeper seeking glory

EX-BALLYMONEY hockey player Angela Platt (above) is bidding for glory in another sport ...as goalkeeper at Belfast-based Crusaders Strikers.

Angela made a name for herself as the goalstopper at Ballymoney hockey club but is now turning for the Crues in football.

A former Irish international she has 75 caps in hockey and 4 international caps in football.

The niece of former Middlesborough and NI goalkeeper Jim Platt, football runs in the family with brother David Platt the former manager of Coleraine.

Angelahas been with Crusaders for over seven years.

The club is one of the most successful in Northern Ireland boasting numerous current and former international players at both youth and senior level. In the last ten years the club has won six league titles and are the current Concentrix Premier League Champions, representing Northern Ireland in the 2013/14 UEFA Women’s Champions League.
