Dalriada were once again victorious after a convincing 35-17 win over Sullivan Upper.

From the whistle Dalriada applied pressure in Sullivan’s half which lead to centre Stewart Moore making an

interception on the half way line and using his pace to score the try under the post.

Late into the first half key forward Matthew Lockhart was taken off due to injury however Dalriada continued to apply pressure through tactical kicks from the out half captain Angus Johnston.

From the second half kick-off Dalriada continued to build up the points with two more converted tries from the centre Stewart Moore. Matthew Kennedy, scrum half, showed great vision when he intercepted a pass from the scrum which led to the pick and drive try from Andrew Stevenson.

Another try was added to the score sheet when full back Thomas Hunter showed his side stepping ability scoring a blistering full length of the field try.

Dalriada U13 travelled to Sullivan on Saturday and were defeated by 48-0. Sullivan started strongly, moving the ball wide with ease and had plenty of big ball carriers breaking tackles. Dalriada had no answer and ended the half 26 points down. Dalriada improved in the second half and had good spells of possession, attacking in the Sullivan 22 but the home side’s defence held strong throughout.

As the visitors pushed for the breakthrough try, Sullivan capitalised on mistakes, scoring from intercepts and breakaway tries. Final score 48-0.
