In all Dalriada scored six tries which were all converted by Stuart Moore to give a final score of 42-0.

In a highly impressive display Dalriada took control right from the kick off, with winger Ross Fallowes opening the scoring after three minutes.

Dalriada Captain Angus Johnston finished off a slick move to make the score 10-0 after 10 minutes.

The rest of the half saw Rainey come back into the game but the strong Dalriada defence particularly from Denis Posternak in midfield allowed no way through.

After the interval and motivating team talk, Dalriada upped their intensity and a series of tries followed with four full goals.

Forward Jacob Butcher built on his First XV debut from last week with a impressive pick and drive whilst fit again Matthew Kernohan was on the shoulder of Angus Johnston to finish off an impressive midfield break.

Dalriada currently are showing a lot of skill and very importantly pace.

Thomas Hunter finished off another move in devastating fashion showing some impressive pace after a break from the team’s other International athlete Ross Fallowes.

The final try for Dalriada saw Stuart Moore finish off yet another good move to leave the final score of 42-0 allowing Dalriada to take back the Topping Trophy.

This was an impressive performance from Dalriada Firsts who will hope to continue to build on this each week.

The Second XV played a very tight game against the visitors Rainey. They went into a 13-0 lead only for Rainey to come back in the second half and score two tries.

With one missed conversion it left the score 13-12 and after a period of pressure from Rainey the Dalriada boys held out and indeed on the final whistle scored a very well-constructed try to make the final score 18-12. Good performances throughout the game from brothers Paddy and Jack Elliott.

Away from home the junior teams did not have such a successful day. Dalriada medallion took on a strong Rainey Endowed team on Saturday 19th September. Missing several key players Dalriada lost 43-14.

In what was a strong opening to the game Dalriada spent long periods of time in the opposition half however discipline repeatedly saw them back inside their own 22m on more than three occasions in which the clinical Rainey endowed team capitalised on to finish the first half 19-0.

After halftime Dalriada set about playing their way into the Rainey 22m eventually off a lineout Thomas Hunter crossed the line to get his second try of the season.

Although Dalriada were always on the back foot, notable performances came from Chris Wright, Sam Dowey and Jacob Fleck who continually lead the defensive line and produced big hits.

This seemed to fire Rainey back into action and the home team began to attack Dalriada and often found the Ballymoney boys were falling off tackles and giving away needless penalties.

Dalriada eventually got back into the Rainey half and a determined run from Luke Clements saw the Ballymoney boys score their second try of the day. The final score was 43-14.
