Cricket: Development officer launches Indoor Primary School league

North West Development Cricket Officer, Brian Allen, has announced details of a new series of indoor cricket leagues for Primary Schools across the region which will be held over the coming winter.

The concept is the first of what the Union hopes will be a number of similar ventures, including an adult league, set to run between now and the start of the 2016 outdoor programme.

“We are looking for as many Primary Schools as possible to enter,” said the Fox Lodge man. “The leagues will be regionalised depending on proximity and we believe that this is an ideal way to get youngsters interested in the sport.”

“This year’s outdoor hard-ball league was badly affected by the poor weather so hopefully this format will help compensate for that.”
