Boyd hits hat-trick in Rasharkin romp

The last of the mid week Intermediate games will be played on Wednesday night and with Divisional Cup competitions being played on Saturday only one league game is planned.


Rasharkin United 5-1 Carniny Amateurs

Rasharkin took a two goal lead with goals scored by Ryan Boyd on the second minute and Nathan Patton on the sixth but then saw Ryan Wilkinson pull a goal back for Carniny on the 12th minute. No more goals were scored in the first half then on the 49th minute Ryan Boyd scored to restore Rasharkin’s two goal advantage. Ryan Boyd then completed his hat-trick on the 60th minute and on the 80th minute Sammy McConaghie scored to complete the scoring of the day.

Both teams had lots of chances to score in this game but at the end of a tightly contested match a single goal scored by Oran Sexton was enough to give the home team the victory. Referee: Mr Bert Purdy

Cookstown Olympic 7-2 Finvoy

Cookstown went two goals in front scored by Marty Meekhan on the 11th minute and Rory Scullion on the 24th minute.

Finvoy came back with a goal scored by Stephen McClenaghan on the 30th minute but then saw Cookstown race in to a 5-1 lead with goals scored by Mark Loughran 32nd and 50th and Ryan O’Neill on the 41st.

Finvoy rallied and pulled a goal when Gary Trafford scored on the 74th minute any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Liam Hoy and Ryan O’Neill scored on the 76th and 79th minutes. Referee: Mr Ian Shiels
