Battling Coleraine extend their lead at the top of league

In the opening minutes of neither team could gain control due to the cold weather and sleet showers.

Although having penetrating runs from Niamh Tweedie and Kelly Watt the Coleraine front three couldn’t capitalise. This turned out to be the story of the half soon shortly after Sarah Harkness had a well hit shot saved by the inform Parkview shotstopper.

The Coleraine midfield were working hard in a crowded midfield to win the ball and gain momentum however Alex Balmer and Susan chapman had little or no space to ensure the dominance the Coleraine ladies have grown accustom to.

The Coleraine penalty corner specialists had two chances in goal from Sue Nutt and Sharon Kennedy however neither were able to beat the opposition goalkeeper.

In the second half Coleraine knew they had to up their game and went about using Zoe Campbell and Niamh Lockhart to create chances for Carol Anne Agnew to get some shots on goal.

Soon after the ladies in red and white had another short corner with Alice McGill shot being stopped on the line. This led to a flick where the cool headed sweeper stood up and ensured the home team gained the upper hand.

This settled the team and they began to really attack the away team.

With great runs from the wide defenders Sharon Kennedy and Claire Adams they began to create overlaps down each flank which brought Niamh Tweedie into the game before Carol Anne Agnew scored her 14th goal of the season.

The Coleraine team continued to attack however it was not to be as the final opportunity always went missing.
