Ballymena Teletots are league champions

IT WAS a great finish to the Teletot leage as Ballymena, Dungannon and Coleraine converged on Ards Leisure Centre for the League Playoff on Friday, June 4.

Spirits were high on the bus to Ards and Ivan's team talk set the mood for the final.

Warm up over, relays assembled and it was off. The first relay of the night set the tone – a convincing win by Ballymena A Group and the huge Ballymena support erupted to a level which was reported to have been heard outside the building, and it must be said maintained throughout the night. This was evident from the number of coaches and parents seen buying throat lozengers in the days that followed.

The Ballymena girls & boys continued to race home with many first and second places and in the occasions that first was not achieved 2nd & 3rd places were secured, all of which added to an amazing winning score on the night.

The evening's swimming came to a thrilling end with Ballymena winning all of the freestyle relays – what an amazing finish to a wonderful night.

The top 3 teams together in a playoff could only mean one thing; PB's would have to be achieved if a win was to be the result.

With a comprehensive 95 point win over runners up Dungannon, it is no surprise that a total of 37 personal bests were recorded, 18 to the girls and 19 to the boys, this makes the personal best list very exciting reading.

Every child from the Ballymena Club who travelled to Ards should be proud, the TEAM was outstanding and the support from every member to each other was great to have witnessed.

To watch and hear all the children cheer for those in the water was even better than the comprehensive winning result. Well done to all the girls and boys you displayed the whole ethos of teamwork and are truly a great team.
