Ballymena man in Irish Aussie Rules team

After attending trials, Joe was selected for the Ireland squad and is looking forward to the championships in Scandinavia, however unlike most international stars Joseph has to finance his own way there.

He is calling on local businesses to get involved and help sponsor him so he can represent the national team.

Joseph first played the sport while at University in Manchester, and when he finished his course he joined a team in Dublin where he now lives.

He said: "Aussie Rules seems to be an up and coming sport in this country as there are already a couple of teams.

"No matter what sport it is, you always dream to represent the national side."
