This was a cracking game of football at Dromore Park which was in pristine condition and is a credit to the hard working Desertmartin Club. Clough probably had the best of the attacking play but Desertmartin marshalled their forces to keep the scoreline blank at half-time. The second half again saw Clough have plenty of the ball and they certainly caused the home team a few anxious moments but at the end of an absorbing match and with no goals scored it was point to each team.

Referee Mr. Mervyn McAleese

Ballynure with a number of new signings in their ranks started off well taking the lead after Ronnie Burns scored on the 6th minute. Ballynure continued to push forward and doubled their lead when Ross Middleton who had been a prolific scorer for Mallusk Athletic pounced to score on the 31st minute. Half-time saw Ballynure still two goals clear but as the second half progressed Carniny came back strong and had a couple of good chances before Michael O’Mullan scored on the 74th minute. Carniny then went all out for the equaliser by the more experienced Ballynure tem held out for the win.

Referee Mr. Steven McDonald

Magherafelt who had a good win over Clough Rangers Athletic the previous Saturday started off very well taking the lead after Michael Devlin scored on the 6th minute. Newtowne came back to equalise on the 15th minute with Paul Brown scoring with an overhead kick. Newtowne then went in front when Matthew Ferris finished off a good move on the 31st minute and were still in front at half-time. The Sky Blues tried hard for the equaliser early in the second half but after Philip Logue headed in a third goal for Newtowne on the 66th minute the visitors shut up shop at the back to collect all three points.
