Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that a £110,000 road improvement scheme on B16 Garryduff Road, Ballymoney was set to begin yesterday (Monday 26 January).

The resurfacing scheme from Lislagan Road Northwards will extend for approximately 1.1km to the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre and is expected to be completed by Friday 30 January.

Danny Kennedy said: “This investment in the Ballymoney Council area will greatly improve the surface quality of the carriageway on this stretch of road between Ballymoney and Dunloy.”

To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors, a full closure of the Garryduff Road will be necessary until Friday 30 January to facilitate the carriageway surfacing works.

During the closure well signed traffic diversion will be in place for through traffic between C90 Burnquarter Road, A26 Frosses Road, B62 Old Ballymena Road and Riada Avenue. Drivers should expect some delays and are advised to leave additional time when travelling in the area.
