Eighteen months ago local north Antrim company Mil All Natural Balms was no more than an idea, but due to the high quality and effectiveness of it’s products, interest in the Ballycastle company is steadily growing.
The company explains that the products they manufacture are handcrafted balms. Mil Balms are based on old knowledge from throughout the world with their ingredients having undergone minimal change from their unrefined and original state. For example, Mil use golden yellow beeswax which has been used for thousands of years throughout Ireland and Scotland for skin healing and protection.
Two other natural products Mil employ are organic unrefined shea butter which has been used by African peoples as a skin restorer and for dry skin conditions, while the pure jojoba oil was first used among native American peoples for hair and skin care. Mil take these products and carefully blend them with other natural products including carrier and essential oils to make an ever growing range of natural skin care products.
Currently Mil All Natural have a range of lip balms which include wonderful mixes from organic shea and cocoa butter, lavender and chamomile and their ever popular simply natural beeswax lip balm. Mil’s luxurious Body Balm has now become a favourite of some local beauty clinics as it’s blends are an excellent deep moisturizer and are especially nurturing for dry skin and is now a favourite after hair removal therapy.
Mil’s peppermint, euctalyptus and ti-tree foot balm is wonderfully refreshing and is specifically crafted for both men and women. As with the body balm it is finding favour with professional beauticians who use it for pedicures.
Mil’s other products include a soothing and healing Working Hand Balm which contains ingredients specifically dealing with hacks and cracks while also moistening and protecting skin. Their amusingly but honestly named Baby Bum Balm is an all natural alternative to more conventional nappy creams.
Interestingly, however this balm is also found a range of other uses by, for example, joggers who find the beeswax and chamomile based balm also protects against the nasty symptoms brought on by clothes and shoes chaffing on skin during long runs. Mil Balms are being sold in locally owned health shops, select chemists and beauticians in Ballymena, Ballymoney, Coleraine and Ballycastle. To find out more visit www.milallnaturalbalms.com
