The whole of Ballymoney witnessed one of the biggest nights of the year on Saturday night, as Ballybrakes Bowling Club hosted the much anticipated white collar boxing fundraiser for the Katie D Foundation.
Lynda Wright, Katie’s mum says she was ‘bursting with pride’ after the event, which attracted a huge crowd.
The proud mum said: “Thanks to everyone who supported this event from the very bottom of my heart.
“The White Collar event it was by far the best night of my life,” she gushed.
Lynda went on: “ My heart was bursting with pride at the amount of support the Katie D Foundation recieved.
“I’ve already had a few people who have offered to take part at another time,” she joked.
“Thanks to Chris Naiper, this man had a task on his hands - his hard work really paid off.
“All the fighters fought well, the sportsmanship between each fighter win or loose was superb.
“Thanks to Rosie at Iron Fist and finally to Scorpion Boxing Club, compere Liam Beckett and DJ Baz, and to anyone else who helped in any way big or small. We are all truly thankful.”
Co-organiser Rosie McIntyre added: “Our town is amazing,” she said.
Rosie went on to thank the fighters saying: “Each one of you should be proud of your performance, win or lose, we all put on a show .
“Your journeys have all been different.
“I can honestly say you have been an amazing bunch of people to work with.”
