West End walk on Rathlin - come and see the environment

Have you ever wanted to discover more about the beautiful sights and sounds of Rathlin Island?

The Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA) is offering everyone the chance to combine exercise and education with a guided nature walk on Saturday 6th July through Kebble and Kinramer National Nature Reserve on Rathlin.

Tracy Platt, NIEA said: “Kebble Nature Reserve is a particularly wonderful part of Northern Ireland and we are keen to show off its beauty at this event, as well as educating everyone on the various animals and plants which live here.

“The walk will take you through heath and grasslands with butterflies orchids and hares. See Cooraghy pier and the breeding seabird stacks as you take a walk along the cliffs of Kebble to Bull Point - maybe even catching sight of the rare red-legged Chough feeding or at play! So don’t forget your binoculars.”

The event takes place from 12 -3pm. Meet your guide at the entrance to Kebble Nature Reserve and experience the amazing natural surroundings this island has to offer
