Viewing under way for McAfee Auctions “Fine Furnishings Sale”

Viewing starts today for McAfee Auctions ‘Fine Furnishings Sale’ in their Ballymoney Rooms, where 750 lots from a half tester bed to a six diamond gold ring go under the hammer, on Thursday evening at 6pm.

‘There is a real mix of quality furniture, furnishings and collectibles’ says Gerry McAfee, ‘Lots of nice pieces of furniture including nice small tables, chairs, chests, sewing boxes, music cabinets, table and chair sets etc, and lots of collectibles including Royal dux, Worcester, crown derby, beswick, doultons, crystal etc, etc.

Three private collections of Waterford crystal, ruby and doulton figurines and ladies are also included in the sale as is a collection of military coats and memorabilia.

Pieces of silver include three piece tea service, pair of sauce boats, nice serving spoons, cased cutlery etc, and jewellery includes a very nice 18ct white gold six diamond ring, diamond cluster ring, ladies Longinus watch, 18ct and other gold chains, brooches, bangles, necklaces, watches etc. Three gold sovereigns, and a gold and half sovereign on a 9ct gold bracelet are also included.

Among the more unusual pieces are a fantastic half tester bed, a duchess dressing table, a superb set of eight balloon back dining room chairs, Vienna, drop dial, mantle and longcase clocks, include a superb mahogany long cased tube chimer clock. A nicely framed set of 122 RAF cap badges, six shot percussion pistol, percussion riffle, etc, etc.
