VE Day marked in Coleraine

VE Day has been commemorated in Coleraine with a wreath laying ceremony.

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council laid a wreath at the War Memorial as did the Lord Lieutenant for County Londonderry Alison Millar.

Representatives of the Royal British Legion also took part. Victory in Europe Day is the day celebrating the formal acceptance by the Allies of Germany’s unconditional surrender of its armed forces on Tuesday, 8 May 1945, marking the end of World War II in Europe.
