Upbeat tribute to bandsman James

ONE of Clough’s best known sons, renowned bandsman James McKay was honoured last week in a very upbeat way.

The community hall in the village was the venue for the official unveiling of a lambeg drum featuring his portrait.

James helped found the Clough Young Conquerors - now known as Clough True Blues Flute Band - and taught in it for many years.

Also a long serving member of Clough LOL 1096, James served as its secretary for some 50 years and was also honorary president of the Lodge.
