£4.7m allocated toWHSCT to addresssignificant stress

Health Minister Edwin Poots says the Western Trust was allocated £4.7m in the latest monitoring round to alleviate ‘significant pressures’ and help elderly patients and children.

He said: “Following the January monitoring round allocation, the HSCB worked very closely with the Local Commissioning Groups and the Trusts to ensure that allocations were made in order to best address local priorities in the interest of patients and clients and reflecting the principles of capitation and equity.

“As a result of this exercise, the Western Health and Social Care Trust was allocated £4.7m to alleviate significant pressures by directly helping patients, elderly people and children receive the treatment, care packages and services they required more efficiently.”

The Minister provided the details in response to an Assembly Question from the Foyle SDLP MLA Colum Eastwood.
