Council have been working in partnership with PSNI, NIFRS and Mid and East Antrim Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) to deliver key messages and the theme that there is ‘No Need to Speed’.

Chair of MEA PCSP, Councillor John McDermott, said: “Road Safety Week provides a unique opportunity, every year, to focus attention on how the safety of our roads impacts all our daily lives.

“This Road Safety Week we want to help everyone understand why speed matters and to join together to say there is ‘no need to speed’ on our roads.

“I would like to take this opportunity, as Road Safety Week commences, to praise the collaborative work between all the agencies involved in ensuring safety is maintained on our roads.
