A8M to be closed for carriageway repairs

The road closure, which will commence at 11pm tonight (Friday), will operate from Corr’s Corner Roundabout to Sandyknowes Roundabout.

A Department for Infrastructure (DfI) spokesperson said: “The closure is required overnight only for carriageway repairs.

“An alternative route is Corr’s Corner Roundabout - Ballyclare Road - B90 Ballyhenry Road - Sandyknowes Roundabout.”

The work is being carried out by a DfI Roads contractor.

Road users are advised to expect an estimated delay of up to five minutes.

The work is set to be completed by 6am on Saturday, February 27.

Earlier this month the Newtownabbey Times reported that motorists are advised to expect delays of up to 15 minutes due to works in the Rashee Road area of Ballyclare.
