Success of Lisburn based PRM Group hailed by council

MEMBERS of Lisburn City Council’s Economic Development Committee recently toured local business the PRM Group. The company, based at Lissue Industrial Estate, successfully participated in the Council’s Netherlands Trade Development Programme in 2010.

Members of the Committee and Council representatives had the opportunity to enjoy a tour of the company’s distribution and haulage divisions.

Employing over 200 staff, the PRM Group is responsible for providing sales, marketing and transportation throughout the whole of Europe, Ireland and the UK. PRM stores and distributes produce for a range of suppliers who are based locally and further afield including Muller, Alpro, Cookstown, Galberts and Fresh Food Kitchen, to name but a few.

As a result of the company’s participation in the Netherlands Trade Development Programme it secured contracts in the Dutch marketplace.

Alderman Jim Dillon, Chairman of the Council’s Economic Development Committee, said: “I am very impressed with the achievements of PRM Group, and the vision and foresight of the owner Philip Morrow and his staff, who have seen the company develop into one of the largest independent chilled and frozen sales and distribution companies in Ireland.”

“I am delighted that the Council’s Netherlands Trade Development Programme has delivered success for PRM and I am very pleased to learn that this new Dutch business opportunity is growing from strength to strength, and is now expanding into Germany and further afield,” he concluded.

PRM currently transports and delivers an impressive 9,500 pallets of these frozen and chilled goods per week to supermarkets, independent retailers and the foodservice sector across Ireland, reaching its customers directly and efficiently.
